Few contributions from Hydatia were preserved, as many of his projects were lost during the destruction of the Library of Alexandria, that would have occurred in the 6th century. One of her students, Sinesius of Cyrene, stated that she built an astrolabe (naval instrument), a hydrometer and a hydroscopic (water-absorbing material).
